Deputy Head of Upper College, Daniel Evans says…

We engaged Sharpstone Skinner last year to work with members of staff across the college to develop their ability to present, persuade and influence. This went so well that we wanted to spread the success to our Sixth Form students and offer them some personal skills training to help them be the best they can be at Higher Education interviews.

Sharpstone Skinner advised…

A seminar for the year group, followed by a series of one to one sessions for anyone who wanted to look at their personal style in more detail.

What happened next?

The seminars were run in two blocks. They were interactive, entertaining and highly practical. Our students gain a lot from those seminars and it helped them keep front of mind, key tips and techniques to improve their personal style and create the right first and subsequent impressions. As much as anything else, they learned key life skills that will help them make develop a strong personal brand to back up their academic achievements. Those who opted for one to one sessions were able to look more closely at areas they wanted to improve and build their confidence with a good combination of support and challenge.

What results did we see?

The sessions helped our students to have a more outward facing view of the world, to prepare for key interviews in their academic life and to develop their confidence to secure the places they wanted for their next stage of study – as many of them did!

We like working with Sharpstone Skinner because…

The delivery is clear, precise and concise, and thankfully it is jargon free. Our students respond well to enthusiastic, confident and passionate people and Sharpstone Skinner embody all those qualities.
